This recipe became an instant favorite in my kitchen after watching the viral TikTok and trying it myself—each bite is pure indulgence.
Ingredients
- Dough: 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour, 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast, ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar, 1 tsp salt, ¾ cup (180 ml) warm whole milk, ¼ cup (60 g) unsalted butter melted, 2 large eggs room temperature
- Filling: ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter softened, 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar packed, 2 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon
- Topping: 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream room temperature
- Cream Cheese Icing: 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese softened, ¼ cup (60 g) unsalted butter softened, 1 ½ cups (180 g) powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2–3 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Step 1:
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Step 2:
- Add eggs and salt; mix well. Gradually add flour, mixing until a sticky dough forms.
- Step 3:
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic, or use a stand mixer with a dough hook.
- Step 4:
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 60–75 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Step 5:
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and roll into a 16×12-inch rectangle.
- Step 6:
- Spread softened butter over the dough. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Step 7:
- Roll up tightly from the long side and slice into 12 rolls.
- Step 8:
- Arrange rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes or until puffy.
- Step 9:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour heavy cream evenly over the rolls just before baking.
- Step 10:
- Bake for 23–27 minutes, or until golden brown and the centers are cooked through.
- Step 11:
- For the icing, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until fluffy. Add milk to reach desired consistency.
- Step 12:
- Spread icing over warm rolls and serve.
