I first tried creating a butter board dessert for a weekend brunch with friends. Everyone loved swirling the sweet cream cheese onto warm brioche and adding their favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • Flavoured Cream Cheese: 250 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened, 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract, zest of 1 small lemon (optional)
  • Toppings: 150 g (1 cup) mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries), 2 tbsp chopped toasted pistachios or almonds, 1 tbsp dried edible rose petals (optional), 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips or shavings, 2 tbsp granola (optional), 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves, torn
